Harahan – Shortly after 9:00 am on June 21, 2020, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop B began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA Hwy 3139 (Earhart Expressway) at the intersection of LA Hwy 3154 in Jefferson Parish. The crash claimed the life of 33-year-old William Marks of River Ridge.
The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as Marks was traveling northbound on LA Hwy 3139 in a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. For reasons still under investigation, Marks failed to stop at the intersection of LA Hwy 3154 and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the Chevrolet hit a levee and subsequently entered a canal.
Marks was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Impairment is unknown at this time, but a toxicology sample was taken from Marks for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
